Meet Dr. Silas Lee

  • ​Dr. Lee is the founder of Dr. Silas Lee and Associates, a public opinion polling and focus groups consulting company that was established in 1983. He is also a political and social analyst for the NBC, CBS, ABC, and Fox television affiliates. He has been quoted in numerous media publications and books and serves as one of the Senior Editors for the State of Black America for the National Urban League (2017-2023).

  • Dr. Lee is a court-certified expert who assists attorneys in jury selection and in defining the social and cultural perspectives of criminal and civil litigation. He has also worked as a trial consultant on criminal and multi-million-dollar civil cases, including personal injury, product defect, death penalty, smoking cessation, voting rights, and damage to reputation cases.

  • He has served as one of the national pollsters for several presidential campaigns, including Clinton-Gore (1992), Gore-Lieberman (2000), Kerry-Edwards (2004), Hillary Clinton (2007), the re-election of President Obama -- Occupy the Vote (2012), President Joseph Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris (2020, 2024), as well as for numerous national, state, and local elected officials and initiatives.

  • His customized research strategy provides a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities that his clients can expect as they implement communication strategies to inform and motivate diverse demographic groups.

  • In addition to his other roles, Dr. Lee is the Times Picayune/Samuel I. Newhouse Endowed Professor #12 of sociology at Xavier University of Louisiana and a professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, LA.
